Larry DeLong is trying to go straight after spending three years in prison. His path becomes more difficult when his old gang robs the stage on which he's riding shotgun and kills the driver. Some of the townfolk blame him and figure he's not far from rejoining the gang. Dan Troop, the man who put him in prison, has more faith in him. When most of the town's able-bodied men are out in a futile effort to track down the gang, Troop and DeLong face down the gang as they try to rob the bank.
